ThreatMetrix, ID.me team up to provide identity verification solutions for government services
A new partnership between authentication provider ThreatMetrix and OWI Trailblazer award recipient ID.me seeks to simplify secure access to online government services, reducing fraud with new identity verification technology.
The pairing will leverage global intelligence gathered through the ThreatMetrix Digital Identity Network, along with ID.me’s seamless end-to-end identity verification solution. The system will be compliant with the highest federal standards including FICAM accreditation, FedRamp Ready, and NIST 800-63-2(3).
ThreatMetrix has insight into 1.4 billion anonymized user identities, and the company delivers intelligence behind 75 million daily authentication and trust decisions. Through the new partnership, its data will be implemented into ID.me’s seamless online identity verification tools, resulting in a secure and easy solution for not only government agencies, but users who wish to access government services.
“ThreatMetrix is proud to partner with ID.me, a company dedicated to ensuring citizens have secure acess to government services, and that veterans can easily access the benefits they have earned,” said Leah Evanski, vice president of strategic alliances at ThreatMetrix. “By working together we reduce fraud and enable trust in the government sector and beyond.”
Both ThreatMetrix and ID.me participated in OWI’s K(NO)W Identity Conference in May, where ID.me was the winner of the Trailblazer award. It was recognized for creating federated identity verification solutions that increase access to online services and benefits, without sacrificing security.
Monday’s announcement was made as part of the Money 20/20 conference in Las Vegas.
“ID.me integrates leading identity and fraud prevention technology like ThreatMetrix Digital Identity Intelligence into a comprehensive, easy-to-deploy identity verification solution for government and commercial partners,” ID.me Chief Executive and founder Blake Hall said. “About half of all information stolen from data breaches is used to perpetrate government and benefit fraud, according to the FTC. Partnering with ThreatMetrix helps us identify and prevent fraudulent activity in the identity proofing process.”
