Paul English's travel startup snags funding from Google, Tenaya Capital
In a Medium post, English said that GV, Google's venture capital arm, and Tenaya Ventures each contributed $5 million to Lola's Series B round of financing "to support our continued development and expansion plans." The company has now raised $25 million in funding.
"We’re honored to join the GV family, and look forward to gaining from their insight and network," English said. Tenaya was an early investor in Kayak; Kayak was acquired by Priceline (Nasdaq: PCLN) for $1.8 billion in 2012.
English also said Lola, which has 55 employees, has already added five more engineers to its team.
Lola's app connects people to its team of travel agents who find and book flights, hotels, and cars for customers.
